How the site is made

Measured Locally is the written side of my YouTube channel. Each week's video, Local AI, This Week, covers what changed for people who run AI models at home, and each story in it is written up here with its numbers.

Where the numbers come from

Before a video is recorded, every number in its script goes into a list with its source and what kind of number it is: a maker's claim, a store price, a press report, a reviewer's test, an owner's report, something I measured myself, or my own maths.

A story on this site may only use the numbers in that list and in the video's script, and only the links in that list. A checking script reads every story against them before the site is built, and it stops the build if a story has a figure that is not there.

My own measurements

The benchmarks are timed with one script, with the same prompts on every machine, and the result goes from that script to the page without anybody typing a figure. The benchmarks page says how each test is run and gives the hardware in full.
